Establishing Workplace Freedom
Widen continues to focus on organizational culture driving increases in employee satisfaction, pride, and a willingness to recommend Widen as a place to work. They have extracted some relevant success drivers from 10-years of survey data and Widen CEO, Matthew Gonnering, will share some of their successes and struggles as they transformed into a freedom-centered workplace.
Matthew is a family man who is blessed with an amazing wife and six fabulous children. He focuses on the important things; practicing faith, being present for family, learning new things, nurturing the dignity of work, maintaining physical fitness, actively participating in outdoor activities, and networking with positive people who can change the world.
With the help of many, he has led Widen through change by focusing on the learning and growth of employees. Widen continues to advance their market position, create new services, and diversify revenue in the interest of providing long-term opportunities aligned to a strong foundation of vision, values, culture, and strategy. He reframed his CEO role by adopting the Greek term for human flourishing, eudaimonia. The Chief Eudaimonia Officer exists because the purpose of business is to help people flourish.
An Appleton native, he grew up in the printing industry and used those lessons to be courageous in making change happen. From a know-it-all teenager sweeping floors at a print shop to a humbled CEO of a software company, the adventure continues.
