Retirement of the Colors Ceremony

Come one, come all to the American Legion Post 360 for a family event.
The ceremony begins with the review and recommendation that a worn set of old Colors be fittingly retired with the respect they deserve.
The commander asks the, Sergeant-at-arms, to have the Color Guard advance and present the Colors for final inspection.
Two Color Guard members inspect the Flags.
The Colors are brought to the commander’s rostrum in proper form.
The inspectors then recommend they be retired. The commander askes to prepare the Colors for retirement.
The chaplain offers a prayer. The Colors are retired, ceremoniously burned.
Following the retiring of the Colors there will be free hotdogs, chips and soda all in attendance. The Boy Scouts will have games to play. The Girl Scouts will paint faces.
