Workshop: Beginner Cheesemaking
Saturday, April 4, 9:30am - 12pm
Join cheesemaker Laura Purdy to learn about cheese-making on the homestead scale. Discussion of science & history behind cheese making, the supplies and ingredients needed and demonstrations on easy starter cheeses. Taste testing of finished products! General admission $15/person, Friends Member $13.50/person.
Springtime at the Farm & Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, April 26 from 1-3 PM. Celebrate Earth Day with some fun activities at the farm park; look for spring wildflowers on a naturalist-led scavenger hunt, start seeds in homemade pots, play yard games and kite-flying. Wisconsin Kiters Club will be on-site to give flying tips and demos. Bring a picnic lunch with the family and enjoy the afternoon. Free, family friendly, no registration required.
Climate Change - Our Shared Challenge

Dane County Executive, Joe Parisi, will discuss Dane County’s comprehensive Climate Action Plan and how we can reduce climate’s impact on our community. Light snacks provided. Prairie Work Party
May 5, 3-5 PM
Help us maintain our 30-year old prairie restoration. Easy to moderate exercise doing ecological restoration tasks, then we’ll stroll through the prairie to identify what’s in bloom. Drop-ins welcome. Light snacks. Bring your own water bottle.
Workshop: Rag Rug Weaving on a Loom
Saturday, May 16, 10a-3pm
Recycle and create by weaving a rag rug on a loom. Workshop includes materials, loom frame (to take home) and instruction. Bring your own lunch. No experience necessary. General $55/person, Friends Member $50/person. Best suited for adults and children over 12 years of age.

The Friends of Schumacher Farm are hosting our fifth annual Music Festival. Music from two local bands, The Dang Its and WheelHouse. Local food and beer vendors onsite, silent auction and raffle. Tickets are $10 day of show. Rain or shine event.
