  • How long have you been a Waunakee Chamber member? What made you want to join the Chamber?
Evie & Co joined the Chamber one year ago when they decided to move their shop location to downtown Waunakee. Ashley reached out to the Chamber to find a new location for their boutique. The Chamber connected them to a space on Main Street in downtown Waunakee. They decided to join the Chamber to help grow their business and to be part of the Waunakee business community.

  • What lead you to where you are today?
Ashley and Sarah both were hair stylists and enjoyed fashion, beauty and helping women feel beautiful. Ashley already had experience with being an entrepreneur and thought it would be a fun “side job” to open an online boutique together. Sarah and Ashley are family (Aunt and Niece) and have always enjoyed being together, so they decided to jump in by starting an online shop.

  • What made you interested in opening a clothing boutique?
Both Ashley and Sarah both felt like running a boutique was what they were meant to do. They both enjoy fashion, and their styles compliment each other. They value each other’s experience and input. They wanted to create a space that everyone felt welcome in.

  • How are you different than the other boutiques in the area?
Evie & Co Boutique is affordable and offers on trend pieces, as well as classic pieces to add to your wardrobe. They have fine-tuned their design and style by listening to their customers about what they are looking for. They offer clothing that fit all body types and will help you find the right piece for you. They believe in offering a reasonable price point and they stand by the quality of their products. They want their customers to come back after having an exceptional experience.

  • Where are you located? Your hours?
Evie & Co opened their newest location on February 12, 2022 with a grand opening celebration, just in time for Valentine’s Day. They are located at 203 E. Main Street, Ste G, in the Lamphouse building. Hours: Tues-Fri 10-6pm, Sat- 10-4pm, closed Sunday and Monday.

  • How are you managing during the pandemic?
Evie & Co online store was launched two weeks prior to the pandemic starting in March 2020. Despite everything shutting down, Evie & Co did well online. They focused on social media promotion as well as advertising through Instagram influencers. They were able to pivot their business plan no matter what was thrown at them. They opened their first store front in Westport for six months and shortly after moved to a shop off of Main Street in Waunakee. After one year, the building they were in was sold, so they moved to their most current location in the Lamphouse building. With all the changes, they remained flexible and had a positive attitude as a team. Both Sarah and Ashley feel like they have come out stronger in the end.

  • Anything else you would like to add?
Sarah and Ashley want their customers to feel confident, beautiful and good about themselves while shopping at Evie & Co Boutique. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and at home. Go visit their new shop and say hello!

Thank you Sarah and Ashley!

1. When did you join the Chamber? What made you want to become a member?
We joined the Chamber in February 2019. Although we are based in Sauk City, we love supporting and working with our surrounding communities. I was born and raised in Waunakee and still have strong ties to the community through family and friends, so it seemed like a great opportunity to expand our services to the area.
2. What is your background and what led to where you are today?
Marietta Reuter started TOM in 1995 working out of her home in order to spend more time with her 3 daughters. In 2018, we moved into our new location in Sauk. I started at TOM 4 years ago after moving back to the area from Nashville.  My primary role is as a sales associate helping our clients find the right promotional products to meet their needs. Other office titles I hold are Office DJ, Payday Dance Champ, and Office Goofball.
3. What services does TOM provide? What areas do you serve?
Tools of Marketing is a promotional products company. We work with a large variety of vendors and suppliers to source clothing and goods that can be branded. While a lot of our clients are located here in Wisconsin, we also serve clients throughout the US and Canada. We also house inventory and offer fulfillment services for some of our larger clients.
4. What makes Tools of Marketing different from other companies?
I think the biggest thing that sets us apart is our superior customer service. We pride ourselves on exceeding expectations and in the event that something does fall short, we will always do what is necessary to make it right.  The other things that set us apart are our involvement in the community, our fun loving atmosphere, and connecting with our clients on a personal level.
5. How have you adjusted during the Pandemic?
At the start of the pandemic, things really slowed down for us with the exception of the front line businesses we serve and do fulfillment for. However, we soon found ourselves switching gears from providing "typical" promotional products to sourcing more pandemic related products (masks, gloves, hand sanitizer...). We had to make adjustments to how and where we were shipping products as businesses closed offices and people started working from home. We were also further able to support our fulfillment customers by expanding our drop shipping capabilities. Currently, we are feeling the pinch of supply chain issues, as we all are, but we remain dedicated to providing a positive experience for our clients. Honest and open communication goes a long way!
6. How can people reach Tools of Marketing?
Tools of Marketing is located at 1195 Sycamore St, Sauk City, WI 53583. They can also be reached by phone at (608) 643-5463, email at info@toolsofmarketing.com or on their website!

Thank you Chris and Tools of Marketing!
